"John
is a multi-talented young man who has devoted much time and energy to developing
his performance and showmanship. He is an encouragement to all of us, and
I think, a fine example of the future of magic."
-Scotty Matthews, The Wandogram.
John
Wolfson developed an intense fascination with magic in 1995 at the young
age of 6. Since then, John has earnestly studied under veterans of magic,
learning the well kept secrets of Houdini, Tarbell, and Blackstone, as well
as modern designers of the magical art. In 2003, John joined the International
Brotherhood of Magicians, 'The world's largest organization for magicians
and for people interested in the magical arts.' To this day, John studies
and practices his art of illusion daily to keep current effects fresh, and
also to develop new material that will push the envelope and continue to
captivate his audience in an alternate reality.
In
addition to his training in magic, John has worked closely with Open Hand
Theater in stilting, juggling, puppetry and comedy. John has had 8 years
of competitive dance instruction in the fields of ballet, tap, jazz, and
acrobatics. In 2002, John began a 3 year membership with the prestigious
Syracuse Children’s Chorus which was honored as the 'Featured Guest
Choir' at the 2003 'Children in Harmony' choral festival at Walt Disney
World. Presently, John is majoring in theatre at SUNY Oswego, and looks
forward to further developing his eclectic repertoire as a performer.
"Each of the days John spent in our home was a magical one! The whole
family enjoyed his daily tricks."
-Magaly Martinez, Lima, Peru
